On Nov.29 at the Beijing OriginWater Headquarters, OriginWater and Liaoning Fishing Vessel, Fishery Machinery and Fishery Gear Association signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Seawater Desalination Facilities in Liaoning Marine Fishing Vessels & Fishing Ports Project. During the “13th Five-Year Plan”, the cooperation will gradually promote the use of OriginWater’s seawater desalination equipment on 17,000 fishing vessels, 218 central fishing ports, and yet to be built leisure fishing ports in Liaoning Province, providing fresh water for fishing vessels, harbours, and fishery ice-making; it will become the lead in initiating the seawater desalination project in Zhuanghe Nanjian Fishing Port and other fishing ports, which will be promoted in the whole province as a pilot project. This strategic cooperation will substantially improve the quality of local fishermen’s domestic drinking water. 

It is understood that the reason for the signing of this strategic cooperation agreement is Liaoning Province’s urgent need to do a good job in marine fishing vessels’ renovation. For which Liaoning not only set up a Liaoning marine fishing vessels renovation project work leading group, but also developed the Implementation Program for Liaoning Standardized Marine Fishing Vessel Renovation Project this Aug., so as to promote Liaoning’s objective of the transformation and upgrading of Liaoning’s fishing industry. As the strategic guidance and implementation institution of the development of Liaoning’s marine fishery, Liaoning Fishing Vessel, Fishery Machinery and Fishery Gear Association will provide relevant services to the renewal and renovation of fishing vessels.

This year, OriginWater’s self-designed and self-processed high-end reverse osmosis membrane production line has been put into operation, which can interchangeably produce different specifications of seawater desalination membranes, brackish water membranes, OriginWater’s independently-developed DF membranes and other industrial membranes. One of China’s largest-scale membrane-process seawater desalination projects — Qingdao Dongjiakou seawater desalination project adopted OriginWater’s reverse osmosis membrane technology with a scale of 100,000 tons/day. 

The biggest feature of OriginWater’s seawater desalination equipment is that it adopts a self-developed RO + DF double-membrane process, which, coupled with dual water outlets, can produce water that simultaneously meets the needs for domestic miscellaneous uses and direct drinking. Different from conventional second-grade RO, DF membrane can selectively remove harmful substances such as bacteria, organic pollutants, inorganic ions and heavy mental ions while retaining mineral elements the human body needs, such as Ca, Mg, K and Na, while still meeting the seawater desalination demand of warships, ocean-going fishing vessels, yachts, etc.
